Ted Ellis grew up and was educated in New Orleans, a city known for its history, style, and artistic exuberance. He is a self-taught artist who blends realism and impressionism in his work, much of which is inspired by childhood memories and celebrates traditional values.

He is an artist who is also deeply involved in community and causes - as an artist advocate, educator and contributor of his art to civic projects. He has been awarded significant corporate commissions by that include Walt Disney Studios, Minute Maid Company, Coca-Cola, Phillip Morris, and Avon. Ellis has also been featured on local and regional television programs, in magazines such as Upscale, Southern Living, and Newsweek and various newspaper articles. He currently resides in Friendswood, Texas.
